Surfing is a hard sport to master, but with the right mindset and coaching, you can learn and improve surfing faster than ever before.
Surfing is still a young sport.
It resurfaced in modern times from the stories and sketches brought back to Europe from voyages in French Polynesia, and later the Hawaiian Islands in the late 1800s.
Fast-forward to the 20th century, and surfing became world-renowned thanks to Duke Kahanamoku, a multiple Gold Medalist in the Olympics, one of the original Beach boys, and surf ambassador.
By the 60’s and onwards surf competitions grew in popularity and surf brands were born from the need for better and improved equipment. With that came the first surf coaches as the sport grew up to the 90’s when surf schools started to pop up everywhere.
Now, with surfing an Olympic sport and kids starting their surf journey earlier than ever, surf coaches like me provide that launching platform for learners, amateurs and contestants.
